BON’s Dutch-language integration programme for newcomers in Brussels.

Have you just arrived in Brussels? Is everything new to you? Do you want to find your way around quickly and easily? BON’s free integration programme is just the thing for you!

WHEN AND HOW?

Attend the programme sessions when it is convenient for you. You can take classes during the day or in the evening, at an intensive or more leisurely pace. You can also choose how you want to follow the programme: in a traditional classroom setting or online. Perhaps you don’t have a computer? In this case, you will be given access to a computer free of charge

Cooperation and problem-solving are essential elements for everybody who works at BON. The integration programme allowed me to become familiar with a series of basic rules and to find my way around in Belgian society more easily.

WHAT?

A member of staff will welcome you individually and in your own language. They will help you to find the integration programme that best suits your wishes and needs.

You will take two courses:

Social orientation, to become familiar with life in Brussels and in Belgium: the labour market, housing, healthcare, transport, children’s education, Belgian customs, your rights and obligations, etc. The course is available in 20 languages.

Dutch language, to boost your opportunities in society, such as finding a job.

You will always receive a certificate of attendance

If you have any questions, you can contact a personal programme assistant who will be pleased to help you with the following:

  • find the right training programme or job,
  • enrol your children at school,
  • search for activities during your free time,
  • questions about residency status and obtaining Belgian nationality
  • …

We assist you in obtaining validation of your diplomas.

After completing your integration programme, you will obtain an integration certificate.

Extra

You can attend several workshops free of charge on topics including employment, leisure time, training and social networking... Through us you can also make contact with other people living in Brussels and with organisations in the city. We will help you to develop your social network.

Thanks to BON I have met a lot of people I never would have met otherwise. We discovered some fascinating things about Brussels and I managed to get my degrees validated. As a result, I can reach my goals.
